B:Harley-Davidson motorcycles typically use one of two styles of LED turn signal bases: the 1156 Single Contact or the 1157 Double Contact. The specific base required depends on your motorcycle's factory lighting configuration.

1. 1157 Double Contact (Dual-Function)

• Functionality: These bulbs have two contacts and support dual-function lighting: running light and turn signal (or sometimes running light, brake light, and turn signal).

• Common Use Case (1157 Front & Rear): This setup is typically found on motorcycles without a separate brake light (tail light) on the rear fender. In this scenario, both the front and rear turn signals will use the 1157 base. The rear turn signals perform the essential triple function of running lights, brake lights, and turn signals.

2. 1157 Front & 1156 Rear

• Functionality:

  • Front (1157 Double Contact): Functions as both a running light and a turn signal.

  • Rear (1156 Single Contact): Functions solely as a turn signal (single-function).

• Common Use Case: This configuration is standard for motorcycles equipped with a dedicated brake light (tail light) on the rear fender. The front signals are 1157, while the rear signals are the 1156 style, which has a single contact at the base.
